Last weekend we opened our first exhibit in conjunction with the Mallorytown Strawberry Social to benefit the Coach House museum.
In short there was a wonderful crowd, great music, great short- cake and great weather! Here are a few snaps from that day. Pictured here is Gord Brown MPP Leeds Grenville, who was on site and popped in to view the show and sign our guest book.
Above, the Coach House is finally open for business and viewing.
Lots of free parking out front and next door.
Large Acrylic diptych by Claudia Deskin
Detail of a stained glass by Mehry Alaie one of our new members.
Turned wood carvings by Eric Deskin and colourful hand-painted screen in the background by Lynn Bleasdale.
Oil painting by one of our new members to the left and Ingrid Schmidt to the right.
On duty for the day, Paul Vincent greets visitors but also tries to steal away for a couple of minutes to score some strawberry shortcake out back. Textile painting by KitVincent to the left back of the picture.
Meanwhile out back, lots of activity with beautiful music supplied by a live band, Mature Content.
Among the band members I spy none other than fellow textile artist Nellie Holmes - what a beautifully haunting voice!
Mallorytown residents provided guests with a blast from the past.
The art show at the Coach House is ongoing all summer every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Come check it out!
