Grand Opening Fast Approaching

We are really excited about our upcoming Grand Opening this weekend at the Mallory Coach House! Mature Content will be there to provide some great music, and who can resist that scrumptious strawberry shortcake served up in the beautiful gardens? All this for just five dollars admission! Don't forget you lawn chair though.

Inside the Coach House the artists are pumped to show off their latest works. Admission to the exhibit itself is always free. We'd love it if you find something you can't resist purchasing. but we really just want to meet you and show you our latest creations!

All this happens from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday June 28th. The gallery exhibit itself, however, will actually open on Saturday June 27th and run Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer from 10 am to 4 pm.

Two of our exhibiting artists were part of Art in the City in Brockville this past weekend. Claudia Deskin, gallery coordinator, paints brilliantly and also lends a hand to use pyrography to decorate her husband Eric's turned wooden platters. Eric Deskin, turns wooden bowls and platters, but it is his segmented bowls assembled from exotic woods that are a must see.

Eric and another artist, Kit Vincent (fibre artist), will be live on the A Channel morning news program on Tuesday June 23rd at 9: 25 am. Tune in to catch them plugging the gallery opening and strawberry social.

MALLORY COACH HOUSE

The Mallory Coach House is the TIA's new venue for art enthusiasts to view the work of the artists and artisans of our membership. Througout this summer TIA will have an exhibition of work. The grand opening will take place Sunday, 28 June, 2009 in conjunction with the Mallorytown Strawberry Social which takes place at the Coach House from 1 to 4 pm.

The Coach House will be opened from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday starting this last weekend of June and every weekend of July and August.

The Mallory Coach House was redeveloped through the Eastern Ontario Development Program over the last two years with funds from the federal government. This two-storey fieldstone house, which sits on an acre of land, was used as a farmhouse, a doctor’s office and home and a tavern/hotel. Purchased by the township in 2005, it was renovated for use as a museum, research centre, meeting place and display centre for the arts. The grounds contain a gazebo, a heritage vegetable garden and flower beds.

The Mallory Coach House is located in the heart of Mallorytown,
